snehalata deshmukh

Dr. Deshmukh is a Fellow of the National Academy of Medical Sciences(NAMS), Royal College of Surgeons, International College & American College of Surgeons and the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP). She was the former Vice Chancellor of the University of Mumbai, Chairperson of King George Infirmary and the Dean of L.T.M.G. Hospital. Dr. Deshmukh is an eminent paediatric surgeon and a Dhanwantri Award winner who has set bench marks in her sensitivity to women’s issues and who is till today engaged in generating awareness about the girl child and the problem of female foeticide.

Dr. Amita Joshi is a Professor of Pathology, Seth G S Medical College & K E M Hospital, Mumbai. She has 28 years of under-graduate & 25 years of post-graduate teaching experience in a large medical college & hospital of repute. Additionally, she has over 70 publications in national & international journals, presentations in conferences & guest lectures in the subject. Dr. Joshi is also a member of various academic groups such as Indian association of pathologists & microbiologists, Indian association of gastroenterology, Bombay haematology group etc.

Dr. Desai has a post-doctoral fellowship from the Dept. Of Biotechnology (Govt. Of India), Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai and has completed his Ph.D. in Cytogenetics. He is an Elected Fellow of the Maharashtra Academy of Sciences (FMASc). Additionally, Dr. Desai is the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Biotechnology Letters and has been instrumental in over 40 research publications.

pravin potdar

Dr. Potdar is presently heading the Department of Molecular Medicine & Biology at Jaslok Hospital & Research Centre, Mumbai, India. His main research interests include studying mechanism of cancer by using own developed human cancer stem cell lines, Molecular profiling of normal and cancer cells, to find out early detection biomarkers for cancers and to develop molecular targeted therapies of cancer for the patients having advanced stage of cancer. Dr. Potdar has received his Ph.D in cancer Research (Applied Biology) from University of Bombay in the year 1991. He was a fellow of National Institute of Health (NIH), USA and also worked as a faculty for 2 ½ years at M.D. Anderson Cancer Centre, Houston, Texas, USA. He is a recipient of prestigious Short Term Scientist award of National Cancer Institute, NIH, USA and also recipient of Birla Samarak Kosh award, Mumbai for his contribution in cancer research.

ramesh bhonde

Dr. Ramesh Bhonde was associated with National Centre for Cell Science Pune, since its inception and subsequently joined Stempeutics Research Pvt. Ltd. Bangalore as Technical Director; later he moved to Stempeutics Research Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He has been working in the field of pancreatic regeneration in diabetes for the past twenty five years. He received Ph.D in Zoology from Pune University. His areas of interest and expertise include Developmental Biology, Stem Cell Biology, Tissue engineering and Pancreatic Regeneration & Diabetes with special reference to the cultivation of fastidious cells such as hepatocytes, vascular endothelial cells, islets of Langerhans, Organ cultures of skin, trachea, fallopian tube, placenta and cornea for virological studies.

He has extensively worked on in vitro generation of islets from pancreatic and non-pancreatic sources of stem cells. He has shown that multiple injections of unfractionated bone marrow reverse experimental diabetes in mice. He is a recognized guide for Ph.D in Zoology and Biotechnology of Pune University, Devi Ahilya University, Indore and Manipal University, Manipal. He has 168 publications in peer reviewed indexed journals, 4 book chapters and 3 patents. He has received 4 research grants and completed 5 research projects.
